Who is Murdock Pool Service?

Murdock Pool Service is a family owned, licensed and insured pool service company founded by Brett Murdock in 2016, serving residential pools across eastern and southern San Diego County. We do one thing: weekly pool service on a consistent day, with a photograph and the chemical readings emailed after every visit. There are no long-term contracts, which means the work has to be worth paying for each week rather than locked in by paperwork.

The company exists because of a specific and very common frustration. Most people who call us already had a pool company and let it go, usually for the same reason: visits got missed, nobody said anything, and there was no way to tell whether anyone had actually come. Pool service is unusual in that the customer is almost never present when the work happens, so without evidence the whole relationship runs on trust that is easy to abuse and impossible to verify. The photo report closes that gap, and it is the reason customers stay rather than a marketing flourish.

Local knowledge is the other half. San Diego County is not one pool climate but several: inland hard water scales heaters and drives calcium hardness up, the coastal marine layer corrodes equipment pads and holds morning humidity, and sun exposure varies enough between neighborhoods to change how fast chlorine burns off. A national playbook run identically everywhere gets this wrong. We group nearby homes onto the same service day where we can, which is what keeps a schedule consistent, and the weekly rhythm is what makes it possible to notice that something has changed since last time.
