Complete Water Chemistry Management
Comprehensive Water Testing
Professional testing of pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, chlorine levels, and more using calibrated equipment.
pH & Alkalinity Balancing
Precise adjustment of pH and alkalinity to prevent equipment corrosion, scale buildup, and ensure swimmer comfort.
Chlorine Management
Proper sanitizer levels to kill bacteria and algae while maintaining safe, comfortable water for swimmers.
Calcium Hardness Adjustment
Managing calcium levels to prevent scale formation on tiles and equipment or etching of plaster surfaces.
Algae Prevention & Treatment
Proactive measures to prevent algae growth and effective treatment protocols if algae does appear.
Stain & Scale Prevention
Specialty chemicals and proper balance to prevent unsightly staining and damaging scale deposits.
Understanding Pool Water Chemistry
🎯pH Level (7.2-7.8)
The most important factor. Too low causes eye irritation, equipment corrosion, and etching. Too high makes chlorine ineffective and causes scale buildup. We maintain the ideal range for comfort and equipment protection.
⚖️Total Alkalinity (80-120 ppm)
Acts as a pH buffer, preventing rapid pH swings. Stabilizing alkalinity first makes pH easier to manage and maintain. This is often overlooked but crucial for water balance.
🦠Chlorine (1-3 ppm)
Your pool's sanitizer, killing bacteria and preventing algae. Too little allows algae and bacteria growth. Too much causes skin/eye irritation and bleaches swimwear. We maintain the ideal sanitizer level.
💎Calcium Hardness (200-400 ppm)
Prevents plaster etching (too low) or scale formation (too high). Especially important in San Diego where tap water often has high calcium. We monitor and adjust as needed.
🛡️Cyanuric Acid (30-50 ppm)
Protects chlorine from sunlight degradation. Think of it as sunscreen for your chlorine. Too little and chlorine burns off quickly. Too much and chlorine becomes less effective.
